If you own a swimming pool, or have worked with swimming pools before, then you are already well aware of the fact that pools have very specific sanitation needs. With a swimming pool, there are a wide variety of different factors that must be considered and dealt with, when it comes to sanitation, and one of the ways people deal with these different factors is by using chlorine.

When you are swimming in a swimming pool, your entire body is submerged in the water. Your body contains dirt and grime, and all kinds of other particles. There’s nothing bad about this, that’s just part of life and the nature of the human body. But, when your entire body is submerged within the swimming pool, this causes all of those different particles to flow into the swimming pool, and then all around it. Everyone else that is in the swimming pool is swimming in those same particles.
As you can probably imagine, these aren’t the most sanitary conditions. You need to have some kind of sanitation system that allows your water to clean itself, essentially, so that these particles aren’t as strong or as potent as they normally are, and so that there isn’t an excessive amount of germs and gunk in your pool.
That’s where chlorine comes in. Chlorine is a chemical that, when added into water, kills off the different germs and bacteria that are in the water. This prevents the germs on your body from infecting the pool and causing you, or the other people swimming in the pool, to become sick.

You can find a wide variety of more traditional chlorination systems, but one of the most effective ways of chlorinating your pool is by using a salt chlorination system. This is a system that turns dissolved salt into chlorine. The chlorine that is produced is less expensive, and that the chlorine doesn’t hurt your eyes or damage your skin.
In this buying guide, you’re going to learn about the Hayward Goldline AQR15 AquaRite Electronic Salt Chlorination System, and what it offers. Then, you’re going to learn about the PL-PLUS, BLUE WORKS BLH30, and the Intex Krystal Clear 2150.

What Does The Hayward Goldline AQR15 AquaRite Electronic Salt Chlorination System Offer?
To start, the Hayward Goldline AQ15 is designed for in-ground pools. You can use it with your in-ground pool, but above-ground pools will not work very well. Other models are designed for above-ground pools, but this is not one of them.

Every salt chlorination system uses something known as a “cell”. This cell is the device that turns the salt into chlorine. Water flows into the cell, and then, through the process of electrolysis, and then the salt is turned into chlorine, and flows, with the water, back into the pool.
It’s a simple and effective process that works very well. Every salt chlorination system has a different capacity, when it comes to the amount of water in your pool, that it can handle. And, with the Hayward Goldline AQ15, the capacity is 40,000 gallons. That is quite a bit. You should clean this cell every-three-months because these cells tend to get rather dirty, as time passes. By cleaning the cell, you ensure that the cell can last for a long time.
When you are using this salt chlorination system, the salt is quickly turned into chlorine. This is a consistent and speedy process that works very well. This process ensures that your water is properly chlorinated and that you don’t need to spend a lot of money on chlorine tablets, or some other method of chlorination.

One of the main reasons why people buy these salt chlorination systems, though, is because the chlorine that is produced is not only a lot cheaper, but a lot easier to swim in. It doesn’t harm your eyes, irritate your skin, or weaken the swimming clothes that you are wearing. Instead, it’s just like swimming in regular water, but this water is nice and clean. That is what the Hayward Goldline AQR15 produces. Nice, clean water that feels good to swim in.
Ultimately, if you are looking for a good electronic salt chlorination system that works well, produces chlorine that feels good to swim in, and will allow you to save money on chlorine tablets and other sanitation methods, then the Hayward Goldline AQR15 AquaRite Electronic Salt Chlorination System is a fantastic choice!

Hayward Goldline AQR15 Vs. PL-PLUS
From Hayward, once again, we have the PL-PLUS. The PL-PLUS is a more expensive electronic salt chlorinator that offers many of the same features – such as the pool capacity that it can handle – and a few features that are different, but excellent.
Part of what makes the PL-PLUS such an excellent device is the fact that it gives you the ability to control all of the different variables that are going into the salt chlorination process. You can control the amount of chlorine that is being produced, along with various other factors that allow you to produce the exact amount of chlorine that is desired.

You don’t need to manually adjust all of those settings. Instead, you can rely on the sensors that Hayward has designed for the PL-PLUS. These sensors are excellent because they can detect the pH levels of your water, along with other variables, and then they produce the amount of chlorine that is needed. The entire process can be automated, with ease, and this is quite nice.
In the end, if you want a more hands-off salt chlorination system, and don’t mind spending some extra cash for that, the PL-PLUS is a great choice!

Hayward Goldline AQR15 vs. BLUE WORKS BLH30
From BLUE WORKS, we have the BLUE WORKS BLH30. Now, the BLUE WORKS BLH30 is a more basic, and less efficient, salt chlorination system than the two that we just looked at. But, it’s also more affordable, and if you have a smaller pool and don’t need anything too fancy, it’s a good choice.
If you have a pool that holds 25,000 gallons of water or less, than the BLUE WORKS BLH30 is a good choice. That is the maximum capacity for this salt chlorination system. And, if there’s more water than that, the cell won’t be able to operate properly.

Using a small control panel, you can adjust the chlorine output. This gives you direct control over the amount of chlorine that is being produced. And, when the cell needs to be cleaned, it cleans itself!
If you want to save some money, and have a smaller pool, the BLUE WORKS BLH30 is an excellent salt chlorination system.

Hayward Goldline AQR15 Vs. Intex Krystal Clear 2150
From Intex, we have the Intex Krystal Clear 2150. This is a chlorination system that is incredibly cheap. It’s one of the cheapest chlorination systems on the market, and that’s due to the bare-bones features, and low capacity of this system.
With the Intex Krystal Clear 2150, you can produce chlorine for a pool that is, at the most, 15,000 gallons. But, somewhere in the middle of that, such as 10,000 gallons, is ideal.

Part of what makes the Intex Krystal Clear 2150 so good, though, is that it’s a sand filter, too. This is one of the best sand filters on the market, especially for the price, and it’s great at cleaning out your pool and removing the gunk and grime that is floating around.
If you want a good and inexpensive sand filter/chlorination system, for a smaller pool, than the Intex Krystal Clear 2150 is one of the best options that you can find!
