Germ Guardian AC4825 vs. AC5250PT Air Purifier: What’s the Difference?

Every home should have a good air purifier. There are so many germs, allergens, and random pieces of gunk and bacteria floating around in your air, and a good air purifier can get rid of that stuff, and ensure that it doesn’t affect your health.

Here’s the thing, though, if someone in your house is sick, then that person is breathing out those contaminants, and you can easily breathe in those same contaminants. Or, if someone at your workplace is sick, then you can bring those contaminants back home with you, and make other people sick.
Using a good air purifier prevents that from happening, though. And that’s why owning an air purifier is so important.
In this guide, you are going to learn about two great air purifiers: the Germ Guardian AC4825, and the Germ Guardian AC5250PT.

What Does The Germ Guardian AC4825 Have To Offer?
The Germ Guardian AC4825 is an air purifier that can purify the air in spaces that are no larger than 167 square-feet. You can use the Germ Guardian AC4825 in larger spaces, but the only air that is going to come into the air purifier will be within that 167 square-foot radius.

When air flows into the Germ Guardian AC4825, it will then pass through a couple of different filtration mechanisms.
The first of these filtration mechanisms is that of a Pre-Filter. This Pre-Filter traps all of the dust, hair, and other large particles that are flowing through the Germ Guardian AC4825.
Once the air has passed through the Pre-Filter, it goes through a True-HEPA Filter. This True-HEPA Filter captures all of the small particles. Particles such as germs, allergens, bacteria, and any other small particles can contaminate your air. This is the most important filtration mechanism.

Right after that, the air passes through an Activated Charcoal Filter. What the Activated Charcoal Filter does is gets rid of the odors and bad smells that are in your air. If your home has a lot of foul smells in it, then the Activated Charcoal Filter is incredibly useful, because it keeps those stenches and odors out of your air.
Finally, the air passes through a UV-C Light. UV-C Light is a very strong kind of light that is used to eradicate the remaining contaminants that are in your air. What this UV-C Light does is it takes whatever leftover contaminants, from the air purification process, and destroys those. It’s a good way to end the air purification process, and it keeps your air nice and clean!
Here’s one thing that you should know about the UV-C Light, though. It’s optional. So, it isn’t a necessary part of the air purification process. Every other filtration mechanism is, though.
Before you can use the Germ Guardian AC4825, you need to select a speed setting. There are three fan speeds, and the faster the speed, the more quickly your air will be purified. But, the highest fan speed is kind of loud. The lowest fan speed, however, is a lot like white noise, and it can help you sleep.

For what you pay, the Germ Guardian AC4825 is excellent! It’s an easy-to-use air purifier that has some excellent filtration mechanisms and, of course, it’s affordable!

What Does The Germ Guardian AC5250PT Have To Offer?
The Germ Guardian AC5250PT looks just like the Germ Guardian AC4825. In other, less superficial, ways it’s also very similar. But, there are a number of key differences that make the Germ Guardian AC5250PT a great, and unique, air purifier.

Using the Germ Guardian AC5250PT, you can cover a space that is 180 square feet. Just as with the Germ Guardian AC4825, you can place the air purifier in a space that is larger than that, but the only air that will be sucked into the air purifier will be within that radius.
When air is sucked into the Germ Guardian AC5250PT, it first passes through a HEPA Filter. Now, this HEPA Filter is quite nice, because not only does it get rid of those small and nasty particles that are floating around in your air, but it also inhibits the growth of mold. This is because the filter is laced with an antimicrobial agent, and this prevents the particles that are flowing into the filter from turning into a mold and infecting your air.
Once the air has passed through the HEPA filter, it goes through an Activated Charcoal Filter. This filter is not unlike the one found in the Germ Guardian AC4825. It breaks down and eliminates the nasty odors and smells, keeping them from infecting your air even more. For that reason, it’s a very useful filter that makes your air cleaner than it was.
Finally, the air passes through a UV-C Light. If you don’t want to use this UV-C Light, then you don’t have to. But, this UV-C Light is great for removing various spores, such as mold spores, and keeping your air extra clean. It’s a little more efficient than the UV-C Light found in the Germ Guardian AC4825 and better at eliminating spores.

In the end, the Germ Guardian AC5250PT is not that much different from the Germ Guardian AC4825. But, it doesn’t need to be, because the Germ Guardian AC4825 was already excellent. What the Germ Guardian AC5250PT does is it provides a greater MAC – Maximum Area Coverage; the amount of space an air purifier can cover – and it’s better at keeping mold and mildew out of your air.
