Out of all the different spaces that there are in the world, there are three that tend to be really, really dirty. More dirty than all of the other kinds of spaces that exist.

These spaces are offices, schools, and homes. In an office, there are many different people working and interacting with one another, and going about their daily tasks. These places are a haven for germs, because when you have all of these people interacting with each other, whatever germs each person is carrying tend to rub off on other people.
Schools are quite self-explanatory. Especially since most children are especially susceptible to germs, and when you get a bunch of other children together, it’s like a series of magnets interacting with one another.

For some people, hearing that a home has some of the dirtiest air imaginable is very surprising. And, to some extent, it is a little surprising. But, you need to consider the fact that homes are where a few people interact with everything that is within that home. These are the same people that are going to school and going to the office and interacting with countless other people and objects.

Since there are so many germs around, and since the air is so dirty, it’s important that you use an air purifier. With a good air purifier, it’s much easier for you to keep your home – or any space, for that matter – nice and clean. And, it’s a lot easier for you to ensure that you don’t get sick, by coming into contact with nasty germs and bacteria.
In this buying guide, you’re going to learn about four different air purifiers. The most important air purifier you’re going to learn about is the Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier. Now, this is an amazing air purifier, and it does such a fantastic job at cleansing your air of all the garbage and gunk that is in it.
You aren’t just going to learn about the features and traits that the Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier offers, though, you’re also going to learn about the Coway AP-1512HH, Germ Guardian AC4825, and the Winix 5300-2.

What Does The Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier Offer?
To start, the Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier is a fairly tall air purifier, and it’s a little heavier. But, this is because it offers a significant amount of power. What is nice, though, is the fact that the design is quite simple, but also very sleek and pleasing on an aesthetic level. So, you can put it just about anywhere, and it’s not going to look weird or out of place.

You can use the Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier to purify a space that is, at the most, 360 square-feet. Naturally, you can put the air purifier in spaces that are larger than that, but the 360 square-foot radius has to do with the maximum amount of space that the air purifier can purify, without you being forced to move it to another space within your home.
When you are using the Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier, you have a couple of choices for how the air purifier will work and function. You can adjust the fan speeds to a speed that is best for the quality of your air. And, you can also turn on various filtration mechanisms, such as PlasmaWave.
What a lot of people do, though, is they use something called “Auto Mode”. Auto Mode is a great mode that allows you to make the entire experience hands-off. Using Auto Mode, the Smart Sensors that are within the Winix 5500-2 detect the quality of your air, and what’s currently in it. Then, they adjust the fan speeds, and other filtration settings, to properly accommodate the quality of your air. You don’t need to do anything.

As for the filtration mechanisms that are used, there are three. The first is a True-HEPA Filter. This is the filter that breaks down all of the really small particles. Particles such as germs, allergens, and certain types of bacteria. Most air purifiers have this filter, and some have only this filter, because it is one of the most effective filters that you can have.
You also have a Washable AOC Carbon Filter. With the Washable Filter, activated carbon is used to remove and eliminate odors. If you have a smelly home, then this filter is immensely useful.
Finally, the last filtration mechanism is PlasmaWave. PlasmaWave serves as a way of breaking down pollutants, chemical vapors, and other nasty particles that can affect your air and damage your health.
Ultimately, the Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier is a great air purifier that comes with many filtration mechanisms, as well as a design that is both aesthetically pleasing, and concise!

Winix 5500-2 Vs. Coway AP-1512HH
Using the Coway AP-1512HH, you have access to a Maximum Area Coverage of 361 square-feet. That is one-foot more than the Maximum Area Coverage of the Winix 5500-2. It also has its equivalent of the “Auto Mode” that the Winix 5500-2 offers, and this mode allows you to let the air purifier run on its own, without any direct intervention on your part.

What’s nice about the Coway AP-1512HH is that it has a very thorough filtration process. This filtration process consists of four different filtration mechanisms, all of which work very well!
In the beginning, the air goes through the Pre-Filter. This Pre-Filter removes all of the larger particles, such as dust and hair.
When the air is done passing through the Pre-Filter, it goes into the Deodorization Filter. The Deodorization Filter takes the nasty odors and smells that are within the air, and removes them. It’s a simple filter that does a great job at removing some of the most annoying particles.
Up next is the True-HEPA Filter, which removes allergens, germs, and many of the smaller particles. It’s, arguably, the most important filtration mechanism.

Finally, the air passes through the Vital Ionizer. The Vital Ionizer uses the power of ions to decimate the remaining particles. And by the time the air has passed through those mechanisms, it’s nice and clean.
In the end, the Coway AP-1512HH is a great air purifier that gives you an easy-to-use interface/user experience, and a very thorough and effective set of purification mechanisms!

Winix 5500-2 Vs. Germ Guardian AC4825
With a Maximum Area Coverage of 167 square-feet, and a fairly unassuming, but nice enough, design, the Germ Guardian AC4825 is designed to be more basic and simple than the other two air purifiers.

Using the Germ Guardian AC4825, you have access to three purification mechanisms. The first of these mechanisms is a HEPA-Filter, which captures the dust, allergens, and germs that are in your air. It’s basic, but effective. And then, you have a Charcoal Filter, which gets rid of nasty odors and smells that are in your air.
Now, those are the two main filtration mechanisms that are used. But, as mentioned earlier, there is a third filtration mechanism, and this third filtration mechanism is that of UV-C Light. UV-C Light is an incredibly strong and powerful light that is used to destroy the remaining particles. More specifically, germs and spores.
The Germ Guardian AC4825 is a simple air purifier that is very efficient and powerful, and affordable. It’s perfect if you want to purify a smaller space!

Winix 5500-2 Vs. Winix 5300-2
In more ways than one, the Winix 5300-2 is just like the Winix 5500-2. It has the same basic design, and it gives you the same Maximum Area Coverage, as well as the same basic features and purification mechanisms.

So, what’s the difference?
Here’s the thing about the Winix 5300-2, it’s less expensive, and that’s because it’s not as fast as the Winix 5500-2. It takes more time for the Winix 5300-2 to purify the air in your home. But, there isn’t a significant difference.
Ultimately, the Winix 5300-2 is a less efficient air purifier, but it’s still very good, and gives you the same excellent features that the Winix 5500-2 does!
