Dyson is one of the greatest vacuum manufacturers of all time. They have consistently revolutionized the way vacuums work, the way we use vacuums, and how we think about vacuums.
Today, there most recent and popular line of vacuums is the Dyson V10. There are three main vacuums in this line-up: The Dyson V10 Absolute, the Dyson V10 Animal, and the Dyson V10 Motorhead.

In this comparison article, we’re going to be looking at those three vacuums, and we’re going to be looking at what the differences between them are. From this information, you’ll be able to figure out which one is the best vacuum for you.

The Dyson V10 Absolute
Right off the bat, let’s start with the fact that, according to Dyson and other official boards, this is the most powerful cordless vacuum to date. That is a feat that must be noted because cordless vacuums aren’t exactly known for their power.
However, the Dyson V10 Absolute delivers a cleaning experience akin to that of a robust, upright vacuum. And yet, the V10 Absolute is lightweight – less than 6 pounds – and much easier to use and handle.

Using the Torque cleaner head, you can clean anything that is on your carpet. Whether its dust or some kind of stain or dirt that your dog dragged in, this cleaner head is fantastic.
For hard floors, there is another cleaner head, and this cleaner head is covered in a soft nylon material, making it very easy to capture larger pieces of debris. When the cleaner head catches dust, there are small carbon filaments that serve as a mechanism to break up the finer chunks of dust, preventing the cleaner head from becoming clogged full of dust.
As for the motor, it spins at 125,000rpm, at all times. This gives you the power to vacuum up anything at all. Whether you are working on hard floors or soft floors, there will be no issues.
Just as with other Dyson models, you have the same basic features.
Features such as being able to turn the vacuum into a handheld, with the press of a single button. There is also the wall-mounted charging dock – another Dyson staple – that allows you to charge the V10 Absolute in a convenient manner, while also serving as a place to tidily store it, and to grab it when you want to use it again. The battery life is a total of one hour.

As for the dust bin size, it is .77 liters, so just over half-a-liter. This isn’t a lot, but it’s easy to release the dust bin and to empty it.
Regarding accessories, you have access to a combination tool, as well as a crevice tool. This gives you some excellent flexibility
Ultimately, the Dyson V10 Absolute is a fantastic vacuum, and if you are looking one of the best Dyson vacuums on the market today, the V10 is undoubtedly just that.

The Dyson V10 Animal
With the Dyson V10 Animal, you’ll quickly notice that all in all, it’s very similar to the Dyson V10 Absolute.
You have the same cleaner head for carpeting, and this particular cleaner head also works on hard floors. However, you don’t have the second cleaner head that the Dyson V10 Absolute came with. Instead, you only have the direct-drive cleaner head. This means that you can’t clean hard floors as quickly as you can with the Dyson V10 Absolute.
The motor is still just as powerful, running at 125,000rpm, and you still have three distinct power modes you can choose from while cleaning. With the press of a button, you can turn the vacuum into a handheld, just as you can with the Dyson V10 Absolute. You have 60-minutes of battery life, and there is still the wall dock. Along with that, you also have the same dustbin size, which is .77 liters.

At the end of the day, the Dyson V10 Animal is pretty similar to the Dyson V10 Absolute. However, it does lack a few features that are notable, namely the cleaner head for hard floors, and this does limit its functionality.

The Dyson V10 Motorhead
With the Dyson V10 Motorhead, just as with the Dyson V10 Animal, you are getting many of the same basic features.
For example, the direct-drive cleaner head that you found in the Dyson V10 Animal, the one for carpets, is here, too.
Unfortunately, the cleaner head for hard floors isn’t, but that is a Dyson V10 Absolute exclusive.
However, you do have the same motor and the same speed of motor. Running at 125,000rpm, the Dyson V10 – all models, it must be said – has a fantastic motor that can clean anything. But, the lack of a hard floor cleaner head does make things a little annoying.
The other difference is that the dust bin has been reduced, in terms of capacity. Instead of being able to carry .77 liters of dirt, dust, and debris, you can now only carry .54 liters.

So, if you plan on cleaning a lot, you’re going to have to empty the dust bin on a more frequent basis. This can make the overall cleaning process rather inconvenient.
Other than that, all of the basic features are precisely the same. You have 60-minutes of run-time, with the press of a button you can transform the vacuum into a handheld, it comes with the very convenient wall dock, and there are three cleaning power modes to choose from.

Conclusion
If you want the best of the best, in terms of cleaning ability and overall quality, the Dyson V10 Absolute Stick Vacuum is the ideal choice.
If you don’t want the best of the best, but something that is still really good, the Dyson V10 Animal is a great choice.
Finally, if you just need something relatively affordable, that works well enough, you can’t go wrong with the Dyson V10 Motorhead.
Ultimately, though, all three of these Dyson vacuums are excellent.

Stick vacuums' compact size makes them convenient, but that's not their only selling point. In the past few years, stick vacuum suction has gotten a lot stronger, especially in battery-powered stick vacuums.
