TRUSTECH Dehumidifier Review

Oftentimes, we take indoor humidity for granted, but it really should be taken more seriously. Over-humidity can be easy to ignore as a common symptom of the hot season. However, when it passes the acceptable 40 to 50% relative humidity range, you’re allowing mold to grow and insects to thrive within the confines of your home, leading to a wide range of serious health issues. To get rid of excess moisture in the air, you’ll need a reliable, high-quality dehumidifier.

In this article, we’re going to take a look at the TRUSTECH Dehumidifier to see whether it fits the “reliable, high-quality” bill. At first glance, it looks a lot like other dehumidifiers on the marker so we’ll need to take a more in-depth look at what this slick, white appliance has to offer.

Water Removal Rate

The efficiency of a dehumidifier is measured by how much water it can condense on a daily basis at a certain humidity level. This TRUSTECH dehumidifier can eliminate roughly 250 mL of water daily at 80% relative humidity. This is not far from the average rate of currently available humidifiers, so it’s nothing to get too excited about.

Space Capacity

This dehumidifier is categorized as a “small” unit with limited dehumidifying capacities. This TRUSTECH model is designed to eliminate airborne moisture particles in rooms as large as 220 square feet. This appliance works best in bedrooms, bathrooms, crawl spaces, and kitchens, but large basements and attics may prove to be too difficult for this tool to function optimally.

Dual Inlet Action

In order to condense the most amount of water vapor possible, TRUSTECH fitted this dehumidifier model with two inlets for double the efficiency. The inlets are located on the front and back sides of the dehumidifier for suctioning and trapping as much moisture as possible.

Whisper-Quiet

Modern dehumidifier models are naturally quiet, so it’s no surprise that this model sticks to tradition by generating around 30 decibels at most. This is literally whisper-quiet and unnoticeable when studying or sleeping.

Huge Storage Tank

Even though this dehumidifier is small by all standards, its water tank is not. This unit packs a tremendous 41-ounce water tank to store condensed water droplets. At 80% relative humidity, this unit will work for up to 2 days before the tank reaches capacity.

Auto-Shutoff

It might seem that leaving a dehumidifier running 24/7 is a good idea, especially during the summertime where humidity is a huge problem, but you need to be watchful over how long the unit runs. If left for too long unattended, the water tank will overflow, ruining your hardwood floors. Also, if you dehumidify a room past the 40% minimum threshold, you’re putting your health at risk. To stop these two things from happening, this TRUSTECH dehumidifier has an auto-shutoff feature that kicks in when the water tank is full or when the relative humidity drops to 45%.

Compact Size

This dehumidifier doesn’t take a tremendous amount of space. In fact, it has a footprint of only about 10 x 6 inches and is 12.5 inches tall. Its small size allows you to place this unit in tight crawl spaces, on top of desks and tables, and even on kitchen and bathroom counters.

Optimal Working Temperature Range

Unlike desiccant dehumidifiers that use silica gel packets to retain moisture, this TRUSTECH dehumidifier has an optimal working temperature range. This unit works optimally in rooms that are between 77 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit and with a relative humidity range between 45% and 80%. Any conditions below or beyond its capacity will cause the dehumidifier to turn off automatically.

Appeal

Even though looks aren’t everything, they do mean a whole bunch if you plan on keeping the dehumidifier in eyesight. In our opinion, it has a sleek, modern look with its curved sides and silver inlets. The blue ON/OFF LED light is pretty cool, and the light doesn’t shine so bright that it’ll disturb you while you sleep. For most households, this tool will fit right in.

Verdict

So what do we think about the TRUSTECH Dehumidifier? After giving this appliance a try, we found that it’s a great option if you need a dehumidifier for small rooms. Of all the small-sized dehumidifiers, this isn’t exactly unique, nor is it a game-changer, but it does the job beautifully and looks pretty while doing it. Like any good dehumidifier, this unit is super-convenient and doesn’t require constant monitoring to ensure that the tray doesn’t overflow and spill water on your carpets, tables, or wood floors. All in all, it’s a great dehumidifier that would benefit any small room or apartment.
