In this review, we’re going to be taking a look at the Shark ION P50 Lift-Away Vacuum. This is an excellent lift-away vacuum that comes equipped with a myriad of great features, and some wonderful design traits!

What Does The Shark ION P50 Lift-Away Vacuum Have To Offer?
To start off, this is a lift-away vacuum. And, as such, it gives you three cleaning modes. One of these cleaning modes is “Upright Mode”, which is when the vacuum looks and feels just like an upright vacuum. And then the two other cleaning modes are “Stick Mode” and “Handheld Mode”.
Each one of those modes allows you to use the lift-away vacuum in a different way, making certain kinds of vacuuming a lot easier.
With Upright Mode, you’ll be using this vacuum cleaner as you would most other vacuums. It stands tall and upright, and you simply push it across the surfaces that you intend to vacuum. If you are looking for versatility and flexibility, this mode isn’t ideal. But, if you want performance and efficiency, this mode is ideal.

Stick Mode is a little different. To use Stick Mode, you need to take the canister off of the upright tool, and then you can move that canister around, to the different areas you wish to clean.
On this canister, there is the wand with the motorized brushroll attached. This wand is very light, and you can move it around a variety of different spaces and areas, making it easy to clean underneath couches, in tight crevices, and in plenty of other difficult-to-reach spaces.
The last mode is Handheld Mode. This is where you take the canister off of the upright tool, and pull out the Handheld Wand, which is a small vacuum wand that makes vacuuming on shelves, desks, walls, and furniture an easy process. But, this wand has very little coverage, so it’s best for small messes and spaces.

Each one of those cleaning modes works very well, and is exceptionally easy to access. Every facet of the design is clearly delineated and laid out, which makes accessing those modes and features an easy and pleasant experience. But, the other reason why they work so well is because the motor that this vacuum uses is very powerful.
Vacuuming on hard floors, carpets, rugs – among other surfaces – is no problem for this vacuum and its motor. It doesn’t matter what you’re vacuuming – dirt, dust, debris – this vacuum cleaner can handle it, and that’s a big part of what makes it such a great Lift-Away vacuum.
The other design feature that makes this vacuum so effective is that it uses DuoClean Technology, a cleaning technology that Shark designed. This is a simple technology that involves using two brush-rolls, on the cleaning powerhead of the vacuum, to help remove dirt, fine dust, and debris, all at once. It makes vacuuming a speedy experience, even if the floor is packed full of dirt and grime.

Instead of using a power-cord, this vacuum uses a removable battery. On a single charge, the battery will give you around 50-minutes of battery-life. Sometimes a little bit more, if you’re doing vacuuming that is less intensive, and sometimes a little less if you’re vacuuming on an especially tricky surface.
Without being reliant on a power-cord, you’re able to move this vacuum cleaner across a multitude of different spaces and areas, with ease. If you want to, you can even use this vacuum cleaner in outdoor spaces, or spaces where there is no electricity.
Of course, the one flaw that comes from this is the fact that 50-minutes isn’t always ideal for the vacuuming that you are doing. This is not a particularly bulky vacuum cleaner, and as such, it’s quite easy for you to vacuum with it at a quick pace.

But, with that being said, sometimes you need more than 50-minutes, especially if you’re vacuuming in a larger area or space where there is a lot of dirt, dust, and debris.
The other flaw that this vacuum cleaner has, is the fact that it is very expensive. You are paying for quality, and as such, this vacuum cleaner isn’t cheap. But, it may just be worth it, if you’re looking for a vacuum cleaner that is truly the “best of the best”.
Conclusion
In the end, the Shark ION P50 Lift-Away Vacuum is excellent! It’s an exceptionally well-designed vacuum that offers a plethora of great features, excellent performance, and a design that will last you for many years. If you don’t mind spending a decent amount of money, then this may just be the vacuum cleaner for you!

Upright Vacuums
Upright vacuums outsell all other types by far. In fact, almost half the vacuums on the US market are upright models. The upright vacuum has a design edge over canisters when it comes to carpet cleaning as they make quick work of large areas.
