Review of the Frigidaire FFAD3033R1 30-Pint Dehumidifier

What you’ll first notice about this dehumidifier, is its simple and clean design. Aesthetically, this dehumidifier isn’t anything special, but it looks nice enough.

More importantly, though, every single feature and setting is laid out very clearly, and as such, it’s extremely easy for you to set up and use the dehumidifier.

When you first set up this dehumidifier, you’re given two choices, with regards to where the dehumidified moisture goes. Within the dehumidifier, there is a water tank.

This water tank can hold 7.6-pints of water, which is a decent amount. But, in a single day, this dehumidifier can remove 30-pints of moisture from the air.

This means that, if you run the dehumidifier 24-hours a day, you’ll need to empty the tank out four-times.

However, you don’t need to worry about the water tank overflowing. There is a sensor that will detect if the water tank is full, and then that sensor will tell the dehumidifier to turn off.

On the front of the dehumidifier, you’ll see a small notification that tells you that the water tank is full, and that you need to empty it out.

Emptying out a water tank can be rather annoying, and you may not want to deal with that inconvenience. So, if that’s the case, then you have another option.

You can attach a water line directly to the dehumidifier, and this water line will take all of the moisture, and push it into a water pipe, or some other water disposal mechanism.

That way, you don’t have to take the water tank out regularly, and instead, the water drains continuously.

Regardless of which method you choose, the experience will be pleasant and fairly convenient. Even if you use the water tank method, it’s easy to remove the water tank, empty it out, and place it back into the dehumidifier.

Once you’ve plugged the dehumidifier in and chosen a drainage method, you have access to a number of other features and settings. One of these settings is being able to choose the humidity percentage that’s in the space the dehumidifier is located.

You can choose any humidity percentage, and what’s really nice about this is the fact that it allows the dehumidifier to only remove the amount of humidity that you want removed.

Not only are you able to choose the exact percentage of humidity that you want removed, you also have access to three different fan speeds. The fan speeds are “Low”, “Medium”, and “High”. If you want the dehumidification process to be quick, then choose “High”.

But, if you don’t want the fan to be too loud, or if you don’t need the dehumidification process to be that fast, then the “Low” and “Medium” settings are ideal.

One of the biggest flaws that this dehumidifier has, is the fact that the fan it uses makes quite a bit of noise. It’s not quiet, in any way, so you’ll be hearing it a lot when the dehumidifier is running. If that is going to bother you, then this might not be a good dehumidifier for you.

If you would like the dehumidifier to run for a certain period of time, and then to turn off, there is a timer feature. Using the timer feature, you’re able to choose the number of hours that the dehumidifier runs for.

Once those hours are up, the dehumidifier will turn off. This is a great way of automating the dehumidifier, and ensuring that it runs for the amount of time that is ideal for you.

Mobility isn’t this dehumidifier’s strongest design trait, but, when you consider the size of this dehumidifier, it’s surprisingly mobile. There are caster wheels on the bottom, a handle on the top, as well as two side-handles.

When you combine all of those things, you get a dehumidifier that is heavy, but fairly easy to move around. You won’t have any problems moving the dehumidifier to another room, if that’s what you need to do.
