In this review, we’ll be taking a look at one of McCulloch’s best steam cleaners: the McCulloch MC1230 Handheld Steam Cleaner. When you’re finished reading this review, you’ll know whether or not this is the right steam cleaner for you!

McCulloch MC1230 Handheld Steam Cleaner Review

Just as the name implies, this is a handheld steam cleaner. You can hold it in just one hand, and move it around with ease. This is since the steam cleaner weighs only three pounds, and it has a design that is incredibly simple and precise, making the steam cleaner very easy to use.

To use this steam cleaner, you first need to plug it in, and then you need to pour water into the water tank. This water tank is capable of holding 3-ounces of water, which isn’t that much water, but this is a handheld steam cleaner.

When the steam cleaner is plugged in and turned on, it takes around 3-minutes for all of that water to heat up, and turn into steam. Then, you can begin using the steam cleaner, and the steam cleaner will last for around 10-minutes.

For you to use the steam cleaner, you’re going to need to attach one of the tools/attachments that McCulloch has provided. There are eleven of them, in total, and they all serve different functions.

One of the attachments that you can use is a 34-inch extension hose. This is an excellent attachment, because it extends the reach of the steam cleaner, making it very easy for you to reach into tight and narrow spaces that the steam cleaner is, normally, unable to reach.

There is also a scrapper, which is useful for removing stains and chunks of gunk that has been on a surface for a long time. If scrubbing is needed, you can use the round scrub pad. For brushing, there is a triangle brush, a nylon utility brush, a brass utility brush, and a large brush, all of which are very useful for any brushing task.

The final attachment that you can use is that of a jet nozzle, which directs the steam towards one point, making it easy for you to remove a stain or a mess that is small, but difficult to eliminate.

It is the attachments and tools that make this steam cleaner work. Without them, you wouldn’t be able to harness the steam very well, which would lead to a far less successful steam cleaning experience. But, with that being said, for these tools to work well, the steam cleaner must be producing strong steam.

When the water is heated and turned into steam, it’s done using a 120V motor. This is a simple motor that, in comparison to other steam cleaners, isn’t as powerful as it could be. But, it doesn’t need to be very powerful, because it offers more than enough power to turn the water that’s placed into this steam cleaner, into powerful steam.

Once the water has been converted into steam, it flows through the steam cleaner and into the attachment/tool that you are using. If you’re using the jet nozzle, it flows into that jet nozzle and through it, allowing you to harness it. Or, if you are using a brush, it flows into that brush, and then through it, so that with every stroke of the brush, you are using the steam.

The steam that’s being used is quite strong, even if it isn’t heated as much as it could be. It is more than capable of loosening up whatever materials you are using it on – thick chunks of dirt, mildew, gunk that’s latched itself onto the floor – and when used in conjunction with the right tool/attachment, it’s incredibly effective.

However, due to the size of this steam cleaner, it can take some time to clean larger stains and messes. If you are dealing with a large stain that is on your floor, for example, then it might take a while to properly remove that stain. But, that’s the only genuine flaw that this steam cleaner offers, and it’s a minor one.Related McCulloch Articles Single Reviews McCulloch MC1230 Steam Cleaner McCulloch MC1270 Steam Cleaner McCulloch MC1275 Steam Cleaner McCulloch MC1375 Steam Cleaner McCulloch MC1385 Steam Cleaner Comparison Articles McCulloch MC1270 vs MC1275 vs MC1375 vs MC1385

Conclusion
