In this article, we match up two great humidifiers for medium-sized rooms, the Everlasting Comfort Ultrasonic humidifier and the Honeywell HCM-350W. These two humidifiers prove that simplicity is genius. They are very easy to operate with just one control button and they provide top-class performance at a reasonable price. While the Everlasting Comfort prides itself in being a diffuser also, the Honeywell sticks to its roots and is only a humidifier.

Performance
Everlasting Comfort
The Everlasting Comfort is an ultrasonic humidifier, which uses high-frequency vibrations to convert water molecules to moisture. It has a high mist output of up to 270ml per hour and can comfortably offer a maximum coverage of 400 sq. feet. With a 1.6 gallon tank, it can last up to 50 hours before refilling. The water tank is detachable from the humidifier making it easy to fill directly from the faucet. It is only operated by a single button and a dial.
Everlasting
The single button is used to turn on/off the blue LED night light, while the single dial is used to adjust the mist level. The blue LED nightlight creates a serene atmosphere in the bedroom for a peaceful night rest. This humidifier is also very quiet during operation even at high mist level. What stands out about the Everlasting Comfort is that it has an essential oil tray that allows you to add your favorite essential oils for that added fresh aroma in the room. It therefore works as a diffuser also.
The 360 degrees mist nozzle allows you to choose which direction the moisture should go. It further has antibacterial/antimicrobial properties and is a hypoallergenic natural ionizer, which means that it also purifies the air. As a safety measure, it has an auto shutoff function that turns off the humidifier when the water runs out to avoid accidents and to prevent the unit from getting damaged.
Honeywell HCM350W
The Honeywell HCM350W is an evaporative cool mist humidifier that blows air over a wet wick, which produces cool mist air that is then released into the room. It is designed for a middle-sized room with a maximum coverage of up to 500 square feet. With a 1.1 gallon tank, it can run for up to 24 hours on low setting and 12 hours on the high setting. This humidifier is easy to operate with just a single dial to adjust the three-speed settings.
Honeywell
In addition, it has an ultraviolet lamp that kills bacteria, germs and other harmful allergens. When it comes to noise, the Honeywell is built with the QuietCare technology, which makes it relatively quiet compared to most evaporative cool humidifiers. However, compared to the Everlasting Comfort it is a bit noisy, even in its lowest setting.
Filter
The most obvious difference between the two humidifiers is the filter system. The Everlasting Comfort is among the few ultrasonic humidifiers that do not feature a filter system. However, it is still effective without it and the filter-less design is actually very economical in the long-run, as it does not require costly filter replacements. The Honeywell HCM350W utilizes the HAC-504 filter series that is replaceable after some time. Impurities in water are removed by the wicking filter, this reduces white dust and leads to a clean moisture output.

Maintenance
When it comes to maintenance, the Honeywell exceedingly excels than the Everlasting Comfort. Its water tank has a large mouth opening that allows you to fit your whole hand in for easy cleaning. The tank also has a large recessed tank handle for easy handling and is made from break-resistant material for durability. This humidifier does not have hard to reach places like the Everlasting Comfort and as a result, cleaning it is a breeze. Furthermore, the water tank and the base are safe for the dishwasher.
Cleaning the Everlasting Comfort is a bit complicated due to its complex internal design. The fact that it does not feature a filter means that it is bound to experience mineral deposit buildup, which requires thorough cleaning. Its water tank has a small opening, which can only allow smaller hands through for cleaning. This is an obvious inconvenience for people with larger hands. Also, the tank does not have a handle, which makes it hard to hold when filling and cleaning. Internally, it has a lot of ridges, where molds could grow.

Our Verdict
Both humidifiers impressed us by their ability to keep the air moist in a medium-sized room. We were however very impressed by Everlasting Comfort’s built-in essential oil tray that emits aromas from various essential oils. Unfortunately, the Everlasting Comfort is labor intensive when it comes to maintenance. The Honeywell HCM350W Germ Free Cool may not have many features like its competitor. However, it is an effective humidifier with minimal maintenance requirements. We could not make up our minds and we concluded that it is a tie.
