The iRobot Roomba 690 is a continuation of the features found in the iRobot Roomba 675. It doesn’t add a great deal to the features and functionality of the iRobot Roomba 675, but there are a few additions that do make the vacuuming process easier.

When it comes to the overall performance, it’s about the same as the iRobot Roomba 675. It is a little faster, though. Not by a great deal, so you might not notice it, but vacuuming on rugs and carpets goes by a little quicker, and the experience is easier, overall.

What makes the iRobot Roomba 690 unique, however, is the fact that it gives you a device known as a “Virtual Wall Barrier”. This Virtual Wall Barrier is a little device that creates a virtual wall, which the iRobot Roomba 690 detects, telling it not to pass. If you have spaces that are off-limits, this is useful.

In the end, the iRobot Roomba 690 is a nice little robot vacuum that, while not particularly unique or different, gives you a few extra features that can make the overall vacuuming experience a bit easier.

What’s especially nice, too, is that you have access to a map of the floor that the iRobot Roomba S9 is vacuuming. Using this map, you can choose where the iRobot Roomba S9 goes, what it cleans, when it cleans, and how it cleans. It’s a fantastic system that gives you direct control over the entire vacuuming process.

As far as the other features go, there isn’t much else that is different from the other iRobot vacuums. But, that’s a good thing, since the design was already excellent.

If you don’t mind spending a decent chunk of change for one of the most powerful and efficient robot vacuums available, the iRobot Roomba S9 is an amazing choice!
