To the side of the hot water tank, there’s a dirty water tank. This dirty water tank holds all of the dirty water, dust, dirt, and gunk that is sucked into the portable carpet cleaner. That way, when you’re finished cleaning your carpet, you can simply take the dirty water tank and empty its contents out.

Most of the time, you’ll be relying on the Tough Stain Tool. What this Tough Stain Tool does, is it allows you to thoroughly brush the stains and messes off of your carpet. This tool consists of some thick brush bristles, and these brush bristles are used to loosen up and remove stains and messes from your carpet.

What’s nice about the Tough Stain Tool is the fact that the hose it’s connected to is three-feet-long, and due to the design of the tool, you can use it on carpets, rugs, couches, bed sheets; and plenty of other soft surfaces. As you are moving the Tough Stain Tool across a surface, a light amount of water is pushed onto the surface. This water is used to loosen up the stains and messes that you are cleaning, which allows the brushes to more effectively break it apart. And, when that happens, all of the gunk and grime that has been loosened up is sucked into the carpet cleaner and thrown into the dirty water tank, where it can then be disposed of.

Of course, there’s another tool that you have access to, and this tool is the Crevice Tool. With the Crevice Tool, you are able to clean in tight corners, crevices, nooks and crannies. These are spaces that the Tough Stain Tool is unable to reach.

The Crevice Tool consists of some light brush bristles, which makes removing light stains and dust very easy. Within the Crevice Tool, there is a pathway for suction, and this allows you to remove the dust and dirt that you’re cleaning up. But, this pathway also allows for water to come out of the tool, making it easier to remove certain stains and messes.

What is especially nice about being able to spray water is that this water can be mixed with a cleaning solution. In fact, Bissell includes a bottle of Stain & Odor Formula with this portable carpet cleaner, and this formula is great for removing bad smells that are on your carpet, as well as various stains.

If there is a single flaw this portable carpet cleaner has, it’s the fact that it is quite small and it’s not ideal for cleaning larger stains and messes. But, if you’re okay with that, then this is a great portable carpet cleaner.
